Wal-Mart stores donated $16,000 to the Reno-Sparks Gospel Mission to help fund homeless programs and food services for the Northern Nevada area. 
Each Wal-Mart store in the area participated in the donation, which was presented to the Mission on July 16. “Klothes 2 Kids” (formerly known as “Klothes 4 Kids”) brought in about $30,000 in donations this year, with the Crowells generously giving a portion of that in Ross gift cards for the Mission to use with its clients.

Thank you Harrah’s Reno Casino & Resort, which again named the Mission as the recipient of its weeklong Employee Poker Tournament. The employees had a great time chiding each other over Texas Hold ‘em, and the homeless and needy in our area got special help from a great organization. We would like to thank all of our business partners who made the recent “Hope for Homeless” banquet such a great success in helping the poor and homeless in our community.
More than 200 guests attended the dinner event, which featured a silent auction, life-changing stories from real clients and a dramatic presentation by local youth.
The night was made possible by the incredible generosity of the Best Western Airport Plaza Hotel and General Manager Ed Mulheron and his caring staff.
