christina.jpgMy name is Christina.

My life was a living addiction. Through my teen-age years, I managed to bring into this world two beautiful children. But, shortly after their birth, I imprisoned myself with drugs. My addiction had a hold on me, and I spent several years not only locked up but locked within my own decisions and addiction.

Pretty selfish I was! I held onto my addiction.

Then I realized one day that all my blessings were still around me but not very close to me. Dwindling away is what they were, until everything was gone: My husband, my children. I was wandering around town homeless, broken, tired and scared. Someone mentioned to me about the Mission.

My first night there I felt the Spirit of God. God spoke to me, he told me this is where my life will change and that He will restore and bless my life with everything I loved and ever wanted.

So, I began to pray. I really felt the presence of the Spirit of God when I prayed to be given a chance to change my life. It was answered by my acceptance into the Reno-Sparks Gospel Mission’s recovery program!

The Lord’s Prayer was the only prayer that I ever knew and “Give us this day our daily bread” was the only verse that I truly understood. I followed those words to strengthen my mind and to help me be open-minded to the word of God.

By the grace of God all my children, husband and also my parents are all a part of my life today.

My life was saved! Through Jesus Christ, I have all my blessings in my life today and I have a chance.

Thank you all for donating to the Mission. You help restore lives like mine.
